Grind Now Shine Later is a way of life. It’s been my way of life for some time now. Grind Now Shine Later isn’t about having the freshest clothes and fancy cars, it’s about the will to put in the work. It’s about making sacrifices to achieve your goals. It’s about pushing when things are easy and keep pushing when things get rough. My dream always was to be financially independent without even knowing what that meant or how to make that happen. Bottom line is you need to learn how to walk before you can run, something I learned the hard way. Started at $8/hr. Never had any money. Then $12/hr. Still no money. Then $16, $18, and $22/hr, and still no money. People have this crazy idea that possessions make you rich. I spent most of the money I had on useless things. I think I spent close to a grand on kicks like 2 or 3 weeks in a row (some of those shoes I still have to this day, and some of them I only wore once or twice). Bought myself a BMW. How are you buying a BMW but at the same time living paycheque to paycheque? It doesn’t really add up. One time my card got declined at a dollar store. I was acting like the poor but trying to live like the rich and that arrogance nearly cost me everything I had. It even cost me my girl. It took some time but thank God I got my act together. Life humbled me. Warren Buffet, financial mogul once said: "If you buy things you do not need, soon you’ll have to sell things you need." I sold my car.

Yep, I sold my BMW. I went from driving a Bimmer to being on foot. Not a good feeling at all. Mr. Buffet also said not to save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving. So the grind began. "Never depend on single income. Make investments to create a second." From that point on, everything started to make sense. I had a goal. I had a purpose. I worked hard, made a lot of sacrifices, and stacked my money up. I had a purpose. This is what Grind Now Shine Later is all about. I’m 29 years young, I work and go to school, and now I drive a 2002 Honda Civic. But guess what? The same guy that drives a 2002 Honda Civic just bought his second property. This guy made a choice and accepted the challenge. To Grind Now and Shine Later. There’s a professional basketball player who just retired, his name is Kobe Bryant. They asked him what he was thinking after winning a championship: "More. I want more." I WANT MORE.

The grind never stops; I’m forever hungry. I thank God every day for the blessings and the struggles. I’m better, I’m smarter, I’m stronger, and I’m just getting started. I’ve been broken in a lot of ways, but I went through what I went through because God said go through it. I’m Leon and this is my story.
